About Me

profilepage

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by.

I’m Daniela, but everyone calls me Dani. I’m a 30 year old Mexican-American word nerd. Originally from a border town in Texas, I moved to Chicago to attend college. With the exception of a two year stint in Austin, I’ve been here ever since. I started out as a magazine journalist, mainly focused on music and entertainment, and now work for a large non-profit. I’m a Texas girl through and through, but the Windy City is my home. I currently live in Andersonville with my husband, Alex, and our two fat cats, Asher and Cohen.

Things to know about me: I’m bilingual. I’ve dyed my hair blue twice. I have tattoos. I love to bake and knit, but I’ve always been a bit of a tomboy at heart. I’m a Whedonite (Buffy will forever be my favorite TV show). I love coffee and craft beer; when I’m not drinking either one, it’s because I’m drinking red wine. I’ve been a pescetarian for the better part of a decade. I’m a Leo, so I’m extroverted. I’m the oldest and my little sister will tell you that means I’m super bossy. I mostly prefer nights in on my couch than being out on the town.

Got a question? Just ask. :)

Hi, Dani. Just found your blog through the Latinas link, which I had joined a while back. Decided to comment because the things you describe as being a fan of, are exactly the same things I also enjoy, (well, except for the owl things) LOL! I just thought it interesting that people can be so different and yet so alike- I’m a 52 year old Grandmother, you’re a ‘pollita’, barely starting to live. That’s what is so amazing about blogland. You find so many wonderful people that share the same hopes and dreams. Just wanted to say I really enjoyed reading your blog. God Bless!
