the flavors of fall

Alright, I’m officially all about fall. It’s finally chilly in Chicago and I’m back to drinking hot coffee (with pumpkin spice creamer, of course). I just found a great new pair of boots and am currently sweater shopping nonstop. Not to mention all the delicious treats that pop up around this time of year. And while pumpkin flavored goods are great, that’s not all there is out there. Here’s a short list of stuff I can’t wait to get my hands on:

Confession: I’ve always wanted to make my own marshmallows. I’ve never actually attempted to, but there’s something so appealing about homemade fluffy squares. I might take the easy route though and just order these from Wondermade instead. Their fall package comes with four different flavors: pumpkin pie, apple cinnamon, coffee, and bourbon. Coffee flavored marshmallows with Mexican hot chocolate? YES PLEASE.

Poor Man’s Kitchen makes some amazing looking simple syrups, including pumpkin spice and cinnamon. I think either one would go great in coffee or made a fall cocktail. Potlicker Kitchen makes beer flavored jelly, which sounds all sorts of awesome. I know I would love to start my day with a piece of toast covered in oatmeal stout jelly.

What are you guys eating/making this time of year? If you have a recipe, please share! I love trying to make new things.
