I’ve lived in Wicker Park for almost three years now and am constantly on the look out for new restaurants and shops in the area. So much has popped up (and to be fair, quite a few have closed as well) in my short time in this neighborhood. The latest addition to the area: Takito Kitchen.
This restaurant joins the likes of other local taco joints like Big Star and Antique Taco, which are really good and offer a variety of a drinks and food at different prices. The menu at Takito Kitchen isn’t extensive and a bit pricey (I definitely wouldn’t eat there on a regular basis since I’m trying to stick to my budget), but everything was REALLY good, especially their cocktails.
One of my favorite cocktails EVER is the Paloma: tequila, grapefruit juice, and lime. Really simple but really delicious. My favorite version so far is made in East Austin at Rio Rita. When I saw this place had this drink on their menu, I knew I had to try it. And it did not disappoint. So good! Alex’s drink (pictured above) was also delicious: a spicy margarita with spicy salt along the rim.
The food is good, the drinks are great, the decor is gorgeous, and the staff is really welcoming and hospitable. I will totally be back for another drink and their salsa alone.
How was your weekend?
