geeky and girly, vol. 5

It’s been a while since I’ve done a Geeky & Girly post, so here we go!

Something geeky:
As an avid iPhone fan, I’m constantly snapping picture with my phone. Some come out great, and others not so much. I also try to balance my camera phone usage by actively using my film camera, but I don’t always want to carry it around. The folks at Photojojo have created a fun compromise for people like me: the iPhone Rangefinder.

It basically turns your iPhone into an actual camera (including a shutter button and viewfinder). Such a cute idea! I’d love to try one out and see out it works and affects the quality of photos I take.

Something girly:
Lately I’ve been wanting to add more to my jewelry collection, especially necklaces. I have a few, but I keep wearing the same two over and over again, so I would like some more variety. I’ve been window-shopping on Etsy and have found a few that I really like, including this one:

quartznecklace

It’s a gold and quartz necklace from Sparklefarm. I love pretty and simple it is; it’s definitely the kind of piece I would wear regularly. They  have a variety of different styles, so be sure to check out the rest of their jewelry collection.

I’m so glad that it’s Friday. Next week is only a 3 day work week before a nice, long 4 day weekend, complete with Thanksgiving in the suburbs. I’ll be tackling one new challenge this week, which is making an apple pie. It’s a pastry I’ve actually never made before, so I’m weirdly nervous about it. It’s also for a friend’s birthday, so I just hope it tastes good (I doubt I’ll be able to make it look pretty).

Have a great weekend! :)
