Both of my grandmothers were great cooks and had exceptional green thumbs. I’ve sadly never been much of a cook, so I’m hoping that some of their gardening expertise was passed down to me.
I mentioned a couple of posts ago that I had some basil seeds I was pretty excited to plant. I’ve never tried growing anything before, much less herbs, so I could only hope that I was doing this right.
A few weeks later and behold! I have sprouts!
They’re still tiny but they are growing. I’ve tried my best to remember to water them (I’m absent-minded like that) but despite any forgetfulness, they’ve still managed to thrive. I’m really excited for them to produce actual basil because I’m already dreaming of all the recipes I can use them for, including this amazing looking one for strawberry basil margaritas.
If my basil is a success, I might consider planting another herb. Maybe mint? If anyone has any herb garden tips, I would appreciate them. :)
