geeky & girly, vol. 2

It’s time for another edition of Geeky and Girly! If you didn’t catch my first attempt at this, you can see it over here.

First up, something geeky:

This is probably a clear indication that I’m a Mac kinda girl. I make no apologies for my love of Apple products; I’m highly attached to my Macbook and my iPhone. Also, I’m convinced PCs have a grudge against me. The wide-screen PC laptop I had in college? Crashed and burned mid-way through my sophomore year, with my 15-page poli sci final paper almost lost to me forever. My first work PC? Also crashed. I have a work PC right now and I’m currently waiting for it to rebel against me.

Anywho, I LOVE these Mac pillows. They’re handmade by Beth Cummings (aka as diffractionfiber on Etsy) here in the Windy City. Her geeky pillows are awesome (and also includes a section of pillows for sci-fi/comic fans). These are the kinds of pillows I would invest in when Alex and I make the leap and move in together. Unfortunately for me, Alex is a PC. Maybe we could mix and match with some from her PC version or get some Chicago pillows instead.

And here’s something girly:

I’m a fan of shiny things and this super pretty druzy ring is no exception. I love that  the quartz is left unpolished; the ring is left with such a cool texture. When I was a kid, I always thought it was so cool that quartz can be found in geodes; they’re just plain looking rocks with really pretty crystals inside. And I actually made this a little geeky, didn’t I? Moving on!

OhKuol has lots of amazing druzy jewelry, including necklaces and earrings. When my budget allows for it, I might be spending a serious amount of money on their stuff.

I’ve been bookmarking tons of stuff for this blog feature, so hopefully I’ll manage to keep this going. :)
