This past weekend was the Renegade Craft Fair here in the Windy City. I love that the fair is just down the street from me (another reason that Wicker Park is awesome) and like last year, I spent the afternoon perusing the crafty good with my friend Maura.
We made the rounds twice, making notes of what to go back and buy. We hit up the photobooth, ate Black Dog Gelato and went to Mana Food Bar for a light vegetarian lunch. I finished off my last Lomography film this weekend, so all these pictures were taken on my film camera. I enjoyed working with such a cool film and want to try another variation of it soon. I feel like I’m still learning the ropes of this camera; some of the pictures I took came out really great while others were so-so. Also, learning how to take them at the correct exposure it a challenge too, but I’ve had a lot of fun with it. More of my pictures are on my flickr page.
My spoils from Saturday: A super cute print of Division Street that the folks at Little Korboose made especially for Renegade (and only $10!), an adorable owl print from Hero Design Studio, a onesie proclaiming ‘IL love you forever’ for my bestie’s soon-to-be-born son from Megan Lee Designs and a ‘Chicago: The city so nice they built it twice’ shirt from Pretty Clever for the boy.
Overall, it was a great, sunny day to wander around the craft fair. I can’t wait to get my awesome new art framed (like an ADULT) and put them up in my room. :)
I feel like I have quite a bit going on these days, including some new things that have a lot of potential. Right now, I’m just trying to get through my to-do list by the end of the week. Wish me luck!
