wonderful weekends galore.

I only ever seem to write about my weekends, but they’re pretty much been the highlight of my summer. During the week, I’m pretty boring (9-5 jobs in general are pretty dull) but the minute it’s Friday, I try to make the most of my free time and this past weekend was no different.

Alex and I literally walked all around Wicker Park and Bucktown on Saturday and Sunday. I saw amazing graffiti I had never seen before in Bucktown and ended up in random dive bars (Gold Star and Inner Town Pub, the latter of which I didn’t even know exist and is only a few blocks from my apartment!). I went back to Ipsento for the first time in forever and had their Nutella mocha (if you’re in Chicago or have ever been, it’s such a great little coffee shop and I highly recommend this drink) and split a yummy breakfast sandwich with the boy before heading to the Bucktown Arts Fest. We walked around so much that I felt significantly less guilty about skipping out on the gym for the last few days. I was exhausted but completely happy by the end of it.

The best part about this week is that Thursday is my Friday because I have Friday off from work and lucky for me, so does Alex. I’m glad to have a 4 day weekend ahead since I’m sure we’ll do plenty of fun stuff but on a super huge note: I’m meeting Alex’s parents for the first time sometime this weekend. EEP. I’m kinda really nervous, no matter how much he reassures me. I can’t remember the last time I ever met a boyfriend’s parents (um, high school?) and I’m a little anxious about it. I’m sure it’ll end up being completely fine but can you blame a girl? I want to make a good impression! Keep your fingers crossed for me.
