adios february!

I’ve never been a huge fan of the month of February. I can’t really explain why either. It’s one of those irrational hatreds I have, born out my stubborn belief that nothing good ever happens during February. Also: Valentine’s Day. Blegh. (Said the cynical single girl).

But this year, I didn’t go out of my way to hate on February. It wasn’t a great month, but it wasn’t horrible. And I’m saying this even with the great blizzard of 2011 being taken into consideration. Besides, whether I love it or hate it, February is the shortest month of the year and just like that, it’s come and gone.

Tomorrow I’ll wake up and it will be March, a month that definitely has a bit more promise. This weekend alone is guaranteed to be seriously fun and maybe before I know it, that early spring we’ve been promised will be at my doorstep and I won’t have to scrape ice off my windshield anymore (but that might just be wishful thinking).

Pictured: The iMitts I’ve been working on and my latest manicure; I usually go with darker colors nailpolish-wise but figured it was time to start embracing lighter, brighter shades in preparation for spring. Knitting-wise, the thumb gusset is next, which makes me a little nervous (I’m still intimidated by adding stitches and this is my first time knitting on circular needles) but I always double check instructions and look up videos to make sure I’m on the right track. If worse comes to worse, I can always run to Nina for help. Hopefully these will be done soon because I can’t wait to get start on the bestie’s baby blanket! I’ve already found the pattern I want to use and I’m hilariously excited about it. I also need to check in with her soon to check in on the jelly bean (what the bestie insists upon calling her baby until it actually starts looking like a person).

Until then, I’m hoping for a little more sunshine and maybe, JUST MAYBE, 50 degree weather in the coming days.

I love that Feb. is over too. I’m a little biased though, because it means it’s my birthday..hehehe!

I wish I knew how to knit, I think it’s a hobby I might just pick up!

Hope ya’ll get some of that much-needed sunshine :)

Just wished you a happy birthday over on your blog. :)
(You don’t look a day over 25, chica!)
I just learned how to knit last summer and it’s really fun, I completely recommend it. Taking classes is a great way to learn.
