Due to unforeseen circumstances this weekend, I completely neglected my #reverb10 posts for both Saturday and Sunday. Instead, I spent Saturday night at Julie’s watching True Blood and eating cookies and pizza. And then Sunday was spent in bed watching old episodes of Buffy. These were all tactics to avoid the not so great news I’ve been dealing with (and not entirely up to talking about right now). But I’ll be fine… eventually.
In light of all of this, I’ve been listening to this song nonstop: ‘Longest Night’ by Howie Day.
I’ve never been a huge Howie Day fan (I have all of one other song by him on my iTunes) but there’s something about this song that I just seem to love. It’s from his latest album, Sound the Alarm, so the whole thing might be worth checking out. And with winter time comes my need to listen to all things softer and sadder. Chicago’s weather right now (along with my current mood/circumstances) makes it practically impossible to listen to anything remotely happy or cheerful. So I’ll definitely be putting this song on my new winter mix.
